The ammonite spiral follows the Fibonacci sequence and is seen as a symbol of evolution, personal growth and the cyclical nature of life.

Ammonites are traditionally associated with grounding and stability. In feng shui the ammonite is sometimes called the "seven colour prosperity stone", and it is linked with the root and third eye chakras.

In medieval Europe they were thought to be petrified snakes and carried as "snakestones", and early Greeks connected them with the horned god Jupiter Ammon.
